What time does the venue close and can we extend?
Yes. Last rounds are called at 23h00 and the bar closes at 23h30.
Breakdown commences from 23h30 and we close the doors at 00h00.
You are welcome to extend your venue rental at an additional fee per hour until 01h00.

Do you have accommodation on-site?
Yes, we are very excited to introduce our newly built Honeymoon Suite for the bridal couple called, The
Simon.
Built in July of 2023.
Outdoor Receptions?
Your back-up plan is our Shed or a tent which we can organize.
It’s easy. We move all tables and chairs to the lawns in front of the forest.
The outdoor reception setup fee is R5000 ex VAT for an 80 pax wedding.
Your back-up plan is then our Barn or a tent which we can organize from our trusted supplier.
Do we pay full price for service providers meals at our wedding?
No, we do have the option to book a supplier meal at a reduced price.
Some clients prefer to serve all courses, same as for their guests, to their service providers because they
work long hours on their wedding day.
However, some clients ask to serve only a main meal or a more cost-effective option.
It is up to you to decide what works for you.
Dietary requirements.
We have guests with allergies or specific preferences, how can we
accommodate them?
We suggest that you ask your guests to inform you of any dietary
requirements with their RSVP so that you are able to inform us/our chef in advance.
Our caterers are well experienced to accommodate these requirements for your wedding day.
Are you flexible with menu choices? And method of serving?
Yes, our chef loves to create a unique menu to your needs. We have done platters to table (family
style dining), pizza and burger menus, spit braais, live food stations, elegant
plated meals, buffets and much more.
Where can we take photos?
Almost anywhere on our farm. We have the beautiful forest which offers the
most scenic sunset photo opportunities, the dam, Stellenbosch mountain
landscapes, vineyards, as well as inside our shed, lounge and courtyard.
We have won the award (a few times) for one of the most scenic venues in
South Africa.
Is your venue child-friendly?
Yes. We have a small venue next to the barn which can be allocated to the children as our venue lounge
is strictly for adults. It is compulsory to arrange a nanny for the evening and some entertainment for your
little guests in this room close to mom.
Can we make fires in the courtyard?
Yes, we have 2 fire baskets and the big fireplace (hearth).
We charge R200 per fire for the evening.
We also have a fireplace inside the barn.
Are we allowed to bring our own drinks?
Due to our liquor license only wine and sparkling wine/MCC are allowed to be brought on the premises at
a corkage fee of R50 per bottle. Other drinks are to be ordered at our bar. No car park drinking allowed.
Do you sell craft beer?
Bottled craft beer is available by request.
Beer kegs can be brought in at a corkage fee of R7,50 per 350 ml.
Can we have a gin bar at our pre-drinks?
Yes, we can serve different types of gin with different tonics and infusions.
Pre-drinks must be arranged prior to your wedding.
Do you have fairy lights?
Yes, we have fairy lights at an additional cost that can be installed in the barn or outside.
How many guests can be seated comfortably in your Shed? Table Layout?
For smaller weddings we can do a long table under our crystal chandelier for 30 - 40 guests.
For weddings with up to 80 guests we can do 2 long tables or have scattered tables.
We can seat up to 100 guests with a dance floor inside the barn or 120 guests comfortably (max 144)
without a dance floor. The dancefloor can then be set-up in the courtyard under the bistro lights. Should
you have more guests, we can seat more guests in the courtyard and open all sliding doors of the barn.
We seat 3 guests a side per table and 1 on head and tail of table making it 8 per scattered tables.
Which is the best way of communication with Winery Road Forest?
We prefer to keep official communication on email, but we have a WhatsApp
number for quick communication. (072 39 00 884)
Dance floors and tents.
Winery Road Forest will hire in dance floors and tents for safety and insurance reasons.
What is included in your setup?
Our experienced team will ensure that our venue is clean before you start décor setup, and your table
layout is according to your plan. We also lay your table settings with cutlery and glassware.
We will setup benches or chairs hired in through us for your ceremony.
We do not take responsibility for any decor or furniture that is hired in externally.
When you book benches for your ceremony, we will bring our rustic chairs out should you have any old or disabled guests who require more comfortable seating.
Do you have a plan B for ceremony should it rain, and we cannot get
married in the forest?
Yes, our white chapel will be your plan B if not your plan A.
What do you mean with premium and non-premium dates?
Premium dates are Saturdays and public holidays during our peak season.
Non premium dates are weekdays and winter dates.
Do you have service staff?
Yes, our friendly, trained, and experienced waiters and bartenders will assist
on the day. We will advise on minimum staff requirements during our
meetings.
Can we bring in our own Wedding Cake?
Yes, you are more than welcome.
Glassware.
This is included in your venue rental and consists of thin brimmed elegant
glasses.
What time does the ceremony usually start?
Let us help you plan this so that your wedding shoot coincides with sunset within the 8-hour venue rental
(Saturdays). Thus, no fix time. We work around your timeline.
Confetti.
Must be organic and biodegradable. (We love our Squirrels).
Smoking.
Our forest is a non-smoking area.
We offer designated areas for smoking - our lawn area in front of the forest,
at our dam, and inside our courtyard.
Linen.
We do not supply any linen such in napkins, table runners and tablecloths.
We do however, have an excellent supplier with a great selection.
Do you have a generator for back up electricity?
Yes, for the Barn inside.
Noise Restrictions.
We do honour the guest house next door with a midnight curfew for courtyard dance floor set-ups.
Soft music is allowed inside the venue until 1am for bookings made until 1am.
How do we go about booking Winery Road Forest for our wedding day?
We require a R10 000 non-refundable booking fee to secure your date together with our agreement,
which needs to be signed within 14 days.
50% payment is only due 6 months prior your wedding date, less the above R10 000 payment.
Final payment due 1 month prior to your wedding day.
